Stuart Cardozo

About Stuart

Stuart established his career in financial services early, joining the industry immediately after graduating from Edinburgh University. After 5 years working for GAN and then Canada Life, he became an Independent Financial Adviser in 2000, working with a couple of independent firms in Edinburgh. Then in March 2009 he took the plunge and set up his own firm SWC Independent Ltd, with the aim of providing financial advice to his growing bank of private and corporate customers.

Stuart’s main aim is to provide client relationships based around personal contact with an adviser. The role of the adviser is to clearly understand your goals (Where are you going and when do you want to be there?) and provide coaching and advice on how best to achieve them. He prides himself as having established a firm with honesty, integrity and client interest as its cornerstone.

In his spare time, Stuart likes to stay sharp practicing karate. He also walks his dog and drives his daughters wherever they need to go

Shane Gorman

About Shane

After a 17-year career with HBOS, Scottish Widows, Standard Life and a few independent financial advice firms advising clients with financial planning solutions and mortgage and protection advice, Shane, having lost his father to the Piper Alpha oil rig disaster in 1988, decided to take a few years out to pursue an ambition to assist in the effort to improve safety in the oil and gas industry in the North Sea. His remarkable achievements in this area are well documented. However, towards the end of 2017 he decided to rejoin his chosen career path as a Mortgage & Protection Associate with the firm. Shane still voluntarily contributes his services to the oil & gas industry, and now also assists his ex-colleagues with mortgage and protection advice.

In his spare time Shane enjoys spending time with his sons and playing guitar in an acoustic covers band. He also writes articles and opinion pieces for oil & gas publications, and is an advocate for an improved understanding of the importance of financial protection for families of offshore workers
